I had my first attack at night, after a day of hard exercise where my heart rate went to high.
I am now weak and cannot do anything, mostly just sit now. My life is not the same and my heart skips, pounds, rushes, slows, flip-flops and does the meds cause this or have I hurt my heart? Any answers for me, becasue I am depressed about my health. I stay at the dr or ER.

" When I exercise I wear heart pulse monitor and I take long rest between 5 - 10 repetition of one exercise to let pulse go down from 120 - 170 to 50 - 70 and than do the next exercise. One hour before I eat medication and 1 raw organic egg yolk with 2 table spoon of almond oil some basic powder, 2 - 3 drops of 5% Lugol's solution and little salt and honey. My exercises are very mild combine with streches.

Best regards,

Stan "

" We were at a party last night and there was a man who was a runner. He began to feel very tired and listless and went for a routine check up where the Dr. found he had Afib. The Dr. advised him to stop running. He does a light jog now but nothing like what he used to do. He takes meds but unlike my chronic Afib his comes and goes. He misses running but he feels so much better that he said it was worth it. With the medication that he's on he was actually able to stop taking Coumadin and he only gets a bout of Afib a few times a year now. It didn't damage his heart but I would advise you to stop whatever is making your beat go up. His was up to 200 when he ran. He never felt the Afib but he felt extremely tired. Its under control now and yours can be too. I had to stop my aerobics but I really don't mind because I feel better. I guess you gotta do what you gotta do. Good luck. Carol "

" Hi,
I have had AF for like 25 yrs (now 49) and have learned to accommodate it over that time (to avoid medication etc). I went from playing fast energetic sport and running machines at the gym to more regulated activity that didnt trigger it. I now hill walk as I have found thats the best thing for me. I always wear a heart monitor and pace myself so my heart does not go over 135. It takes more time to get the same benefit as an hour in the gym but the views are prettier - and its free!!

I had 2 ablations this year - I finally gave in!! but I still do the same lower impact activity over a longer period of time. I actually think walking in the hills for 5 or 6 hours is more beneficial than pounding in the gym - fresh air, feelgood factor etc,esp if you have a partner who comes with you, you just have to make more time to accommodate it. I also do 30 minutes on my cross trainer at home daily but its set to high resistance & low speed - you still get a great exercise but your heart rate is more moderate. AF can be a very personal thing and what works for one doesnt work for others but the one thing I have found that AF hearts dont like is irregularity of excercise. Do it moderately and routinely and it will get used to it but do it after a long period of inactivity and it will protest! Little and often is the best way.

Hope your feeling better Brenkaye "

" Thanks for you replys. I don't exercisze any more just do what I have to do. The medication I take keeps me down. Can you guys tell me what meds the drs have you on and the strenght. I find that my heart aches, pounds, flip flops and irregular beats but no AF so far this month. MY heart rate stays about 50 to 58 can this be what is keeping me slow? I was on metropolol and it was poison to me. Now I am on diltiazam 120 ER one a day. I want to know if you guys feel normal. I don't like I said my AF lasted for 7 hrs at 180 to 200 beats per min. I think this hurt my heart some way. The doctor doesen't know or seems to care. BrenKays "
