When people don't understand what you're going through. They think that, just because there are millions of people with asthma, it's not a serious problem. There are a lot of people who have mild forms of asthma, but it can be life threatening. I have to get allergy shots every week because allergies affect my breathing. I had to go to the ER (on xmas morning...) because I couldn't breathe. I've probably missed, in all, weeks of gym in school because I've been too sick to exercise. I wish people would take asthma seriously because if there was no asthma medicine I'd be dead now :-(

" I totally agree with you. There would be lots of people dead by now, if it wasn't for the medication. "

" I so hear you! I am asthmatic and have gone through the shots, inhalers, pills, antibiotics and all sorts of stuff to get it under control. I am grateful that there's medication out there that works for me. It's ok if others don't understand what it's all about because this is part of my life that I can't ignore. It is a condition I have that sometimes limits what I can and cannot do but it's not all that I am...if you only look at that piece of me, you are missing out on the best of me. Hang in there! "

" No kidding. It makes me furious. I have had this for 23 years and when it first started it was very very hard to get it under control and I was in the hospital all the time, MY doctor at that time was so frustrated becuz I have such severe and touchy asthma that he abruptly gave up after two months and decided it was all in my head. Then he proceeded to poison me with solumedrol at massive doses for almost a year. I finally got help from a better physician and weaned off the steroids at such huge doses. "
