Before I had my meds changed I was having bronchitis over and over, at one point I had it for 5 or 6 weeks. As it turned out I wenty to a pulmonary specialist and he figured out that my asthma was not controled and I needed to be ond a different combination of controlers.

The bronchitis may not be bacterial, or you may need a stronger antibiotic. If you'r not allergic to peniciliin, maybe they could try you on Augmentin. If it's any consolation, I had bronchitis exacerbated by asthma that lasted three months this year . A combination of Augmentin and 3xdaily nebulizer treatments helped, but I don't think it completely got rid of it -- it kept coming back. I'm better now, however. The best advice I can give is to get rest -- I don't think I would have gotten as sick as I did if I had stayed home from work when I was coughing nonstop.

hey everyone... I have finished the Zithromax... I ended up in the ER last night and they gave me my last dose there. The on-call doctor started me on Spiriva. I have no clue if that is working yet. The NP in the Allergist office started me on Nasonex and Pataday. I go back in two weeks. She is considering doing a skin allerigy test and some more blood work but she wants to wait til I feel better. I have been doing the Albuterol nebulizer like every 2.5 hours. I still don't feel well.

I just got back from my GP and he said to use a spacer (I can't find anything to describe it other tan a type of plastic balloon) that is more efficient than going on the pump? Have any others been given tis advice and is it efficient?

A spacer allows the vapor from the inhaler canister to slow down long enough for you to inhale it deep into your lungs. Otherwise, I believe a lot of it just gets absorbed by the back of your throat.
