My albuterol makes me shake also. Pollen will definately trigger asthma symptoms, and can cause coughing and all. i am on claritin also, but i use flonase too, which seems to help.

I have used albuterol for many years. A doctor told me to rinse my mouth out after every use to wash away the residue inside my mouth. The mouth has a lot of blood vessels near the surface that quickly absorb the medicine, which can increase the shakiness. I hope this helps. You might try sitting in a steam bath (or let your shower steam up your bathroom). I find that helps loosen up the junk in my lungs. Good luck!

Rinse and gargle or even brush after using inhalers. Use an air purifier and a vaporizor. These all help. If you add a vibrator all over your ribs, it will help loosen the gunk so you can bring up the stuff with less effort.

Maybe change to Zyrtek and mucomyst combination and see if they help with all the pollen. They are both OTC.

all beta 2 antagnosits will make you shake it is one of the side effects im not entirly sure why they do. ou may need to get allergy tests to see what you are allergic to and then get specifci allergy treatments for your problmes. in the meantime the best ting to do it try to avoid things that may set you off or wear a mask or scarf around your noise and motuh the prevent irritation and aggravation.

No allergy medicine worked for me until I took Singular. Of course, watch for mood swings in light of the Dr's post. My pharmacist was saying that everyone is different and that most people need to find which drug works for them. Claritin did not touch my allergies but Singular is a miracle. Nasal steriods also keep me from having a perpetually itchy nose. Olive has a good point, you may want to get tested for which allergies irritate you.

You might want to ask your doctor for Advair. it's helped me to reduce the use of Albuterol (which makes me jittery too.) My sister has had improvement with asthma since she started acupuncture about a month ago. She was able to stop 4 meds. I just started acupuncture for my fibro but we haven't started treating for asthma yet. I still take 5 meds for asthma. Adviar has made the biggest improvement though.

I think Advair is the better medicine than Albuterol. Because
Advair Discus (Fluticasone/Salmeterol) is used for long-term prevention and treatment of asthma and chronic lung diseases.
Combivent (Albuterol and Ipratropium) is used to prevent bronchospasm.

I have COPD as well as Asthma. My doctor has me taking Mucinex on top of Duo Neb,(Albuterall and atrovent) and Advair ect. It helps break up the mucus so you can cough it up. YOu don't need a prescription and the generic brands are just as good as the name brand. Worth a shot anyway!!! ~smile~
