Breathing probls that rescue doesn't help?

I've been having breathing problems that my rescue doesn't help with. After an endoscopy I was diagnosed with esophogitis, with the type likely being Eosinophilic esophagitis, a buildup of a type of white blood cells in the esophogus. Takes 2 months for the med to work if that's the problem, and that's a long time to continue with breathing issues, especially if that turns out not to be the problem, therefore not the cure.

Anyone had what felt like asthma, but the rescue inhaler didn't work? What did it end up being?

Thanks!

" Oh yes. I have been having severe breathing issues for 11 months. My reliever has never helped. Neither did a steroid.

Have a lung function test. That is the only thing that finally found a problem with me. I have troubles with getting a breathe in and that showed on both of my recent tests.

I may have a different type of lung problem but won't know anymore until I have the lung function test with a chemical inhale. "

" I'm sorry to hear that you, like me, have also been suffering with breathing issues for so long with trouble getting a diagnosis.

I hope you to start finding some clues.

I'll let you know the results of the chemical inhale/lung function test once I've had it.

:) "

" I have gastric reflux does the same thing. I am on prevacid and tums . Had surgery to correct the reflux after anEGD. I had high hopes that it would help. It does some but not as much as I had hoped. Be patient, these things take time.

" When my rescue inhaler doesn't work, it usually means I'm going into an exacerbation and i pay close attention to my FEV. When it falls below 250, I start my regime: 60 mg for 6 days, 40 mg for 6 days, and 30mgs for six days and see my doctor who gives me an antibiotic for ten days.

I've had asthma for 80 years. The worst thing is the buffalo hump on my neck, extended waist, and chipmunk cheeks from all the prednisone, but nothing else matters if you can't breathe. "
