Just wondering how many people with asthma have anxiety problems as well? I do and they seemed to start about the same time. I was dx'd with asthma in 2004. Just curious. It hasn't been addressed by my pulmonologist even though I have mentioned it.

" I know my tight chest makes me feel anxious...but that is more because I am worrying about an attack starting. I do yoga breathing to help with both. at least it makes me focus enough to be calm and evaluate what is going on.... "

" I too suffer from anxiety and when It hits my chest gets tight. I usually do an albuterol nebulizer treatment if I'm home or take a few puffs from inhaler . Sometimes I take half of a Xanax tablet and that also helps. It helps to deep breathing exercises but sometimes its hard to focus on that at the time it is all happening. Prayer helps a lot too!! "
