I take a Singulair every night before sleeping. I began taking that 3 days before I was dismissed from the hospital in Oct. 07. I have never missed one and wonder how I would know whether it was working or not for me.

Ohana,
At age 61, with a history of COPD/emphysema, and living in Ohio during the height of winter and the flu/cold season, it is best to stay on medication as prescribed. The only way you will know whether this is making a difference or not is when you might forget to take it or miss a dose due to a scheduling problem. But under the circumstances it would be best to continue taking all meds religiously.

Hi Ohana - I just started taking it last night so i have no data on how it works for my asthma...but it's perscribed for allergies too and I do notice a difference in my sneezing, stuffiness and itchy nose. It feels pretty good today. I would follow Orsons advice and continue with it. Discuss it with your Dr. if you are unsure.

Singular did not work for me, I was on it for a year to prove it! Accolate did work, but for some unknown reason, my allergy doc switched me to Singular and did not switch me back.

I've been taking Singulair for quite some time and I really haven't noticed a difference. I have allergies and it some what helps when I'm around cats or something but when it comes to taking long walks and such I've noticed that it's almost the same when I don't take it.
