Help Please. What do I do,how do I handle the situation? My 8 yr. old grandaughter plays on the computer, children sites,Nick, etc. When she's playing a game showing little animals or something like that ,other kids can type something in along with the game.Yesterday some little girl said my GD. was stealing her "boyfriend" [some animal] and said demons were going to get her tonite.Well my gd panicked, was crying for over an hr.and no matter what I said trying to calm her, explaining its not real etc. nothing worked, couldn't get it out of her head. She had me up @ 3:15 this am all scared and worried. What do I do about this? It's a little kids gamesite.

report the other user for inappropriate conduct and violation of that site's tos, that's about the best you can do about the other user.Does your granddaughter have a fave stuffed animal that is known to "protect" her? It sounds silly, but a white unicorn served as my daughter's protector from the boogyman.

Spongebob is her fav.sleeps with it etc.I will tell her that he will protect her but seems like anything I say doesn'r work. Plus she's saying this yr she's not going trick or treating because a stuffed animal is going to rush in here with a knife and kill her.She always loved halloween before.

She needs to be cut off from that website! Sig's advice is excellent.
You can do an exercise with her that should help: Have her pick one of the scary dreams at a time, have her tell the story to you from beginning to end. Then you tell her the story back, and change the ending so that she starts to fight back and discovers that her attacker comes apart in her hands, because it's only a stuffed animal. Then go over all the other scary dreams and change the endings of those, too, preferably with a different ending for each one. Like the animal with the knife is not chasing her, he is really bringing it to her so she can protect herself, and the demons fizzle into nothing if you tell them a knock-knock joke. At 8 with Asperger's she may not be capable of understanding that they are just dreams. This is a VERY effective technique. Also feel free to use a squirt bottle full of water (but call it monster spray) that can be used under the bed and in the closet.

Thank you so much for your advice.I will try what you both suggested and see what happens. When she gets something in her head though it's almost impossible to get it out.Just today I moved her bed a little bit because I have a bad back and when I make her bed it's rather hard. When she got home from school she started crying and said she can't ever sleep in the bed again.I did explain why I moved it but didn't matter.I'm feeling physically ill tonite due to all this.I am on this site for anxiety and this sure doesn't help.
