" You might try excedrin for tension headaches. I get really tense tension headaches from my neck and upper back area with muscle spasms. It has to be that excedrin however. For me it relaxes the muscles. I dont know if it would help with your inflamation. Also I see several of you mention heat, but no one is mentioning ice packs. I use ice packs quite frequently. You can switch them off every so few minutes. Ice packs can numb the nerve endings that are delivering the pain messages. It may not help the neck directly for some of you, but it would help with the headaches.
hope this helps. "

" One more thing, you might find a chiro that uses activator rather then manipulating by hand, your adjustment. The activator is used to gently click the bones into place in specific points so it is more specific adn less chance of injuring or hurting you. When you have bone density issues, if the chiro tries to do it manually he/she could definitely hurt you by accident and thats why some will not treat you. Activator use is more common then you think but it takes a lot of extra education and training to be abel to use it efficiently. you need to ask that chiros office if they use it prior to making an apt. Some people think they have to be yanked around, but in reality if the chiro is effecient in activator you will feel better faster and less pain from the actual manipuation.
good luck. "

" What my pain doctor is trying to for me is giving me a TENS unit (http://arthritis.about.com/od/assistivedevicesgadgets/g/tensunit.htm)
It has a lot of settings and intensity. Some feel like a hot tub jet and others like a massage, etc. I have just had it a couple days and it seems to relax my muscles. I would see about that. "
