Just not having a good day and need to vent somewhere - don't read if you don't want to, but posting will at least hopefully make me feel a little better.
I was sent to a rheumy, he is leaning toward psioratic arthritis (or possibly early onset osteoarthritis) as ultrasound did not show RA, but my RA factor was high. I am on a low dose of prednisone which seems to be helping a little. My psoriasis actually hardly ever appears, and I have never been on meds for it, so the psioratic arthritis possibility was a little suprising to me. I really don't care WHAT kind of arthritis it is at this point; just want a dx and some help. Not having a good day here, obviously LOL; achy, in pain, and not looking forward to Monday morning at my new job that I am really not liking. Thanks for reading; can't exactly explain to my kids so they understand why I am just so cranky today and not getting anything done; even took a nap and that made me feel worse (and I LOVE naps LOL) Kim Posted on 09/13/09, 06:09 pm |

All my sympathy! This stuff stinks.
It is possible that you have multiple types of arthritis. Several of us here do. Just watch the prednisone use, try not to use it too long, and wean off slowly. New job you don't like? Now that REALLY stinks! I hope it grows on you after you get in the groove. In reality, sometimes its just a bad fit. In the meantime, just keep yourself amused there by watching co-worker's sometimes amusing and/or absurd behavior [grin]. Here's hoping all gets better quickly! Check back and let us know!

i;m new to daily strength. have had psoriasis for 40 yrs and psoriatic arth w/o any history of osteo or any other kind forat least 12 yrs. had to stop working in 03. make sure you follow this closely while it;s still not so bad. just regular psoriasis is one thing but few people even know about psoriatic arthritis. start being much more relaxed and kind to yourself. you can get through this and you are definitely not alone,but don't expect anyone else to understand. if you want, and if there isnt one, we could start a separate sub support group within this one although i;m not sure if that's possible. you are doing great already by not ignoring it; that's something i didn't do. so you are way ahead of this by getting help now. good luck on your job and i'm sure you are blessed to have one. take care of yourself. it will be okay.love and hugs anne17

hi, i've had psoriasis for 10 years and i'm only 21 and i'm just a few days away of being diagnosed with arthritis, i'm in pain constantly in my feet and i hate it.
i am really scared of losing my job over it and no one really understands they just give me sympathy. just to let you no it might feel like your on your own but there are loads of people out there going through the exact same thing. take care xx

oh dear. unless you model very narrow shoes for a living i think you can work at somthing or other, even if it has to be from home...just a slight bit of humor, i hope. just don't be afraid. you have people to talk to that totally understand. it's terrifying when our bodies do their own thing. but you can psychoanalyze yourself and learn to take it day by day. my shoes suddenly--very suddenly--started not fitting, and iwas so scared. started isolating, wouldn't deal with it or go to a doctor or alternativr health practitioner. if it's psoriatic arthritis they can diagnose it with a blood test. just relax, take a breath and know you are being prayed for, remembered, and by taklking about it, you will eventually find a way out . stay on top of it, like you are. and write anytime

forgot to add that you might want to giveup meat, dahiry, sugar, flour, go gluten free, eat fresh, organic fruits and vegs. also, try decaf coffee annd herb tea, cut way down on salt if you use it. relax, relax, relax. keep letting us know how you're doing. and expect improvement and changes to take longer than you would think. it's all gonna be okay. bye for now
