I keep stumbling..yes I did just get new glasses but I don't think it is just that. Over the last couple of yrs I just sometimes seems I don't pick my feet up enough. I guess. I will be going somewhere quickly always! i FALL UP STEPS SOMETIMES. mISS JUDGE OR SOMETHING WHEN JUST WALKING ACROSS A PARKING LOTS. Darn caps! Sorry.
A piece of gravel if a little larger than most can make me lose balance easily. I fall part way most of the time. I can stop myself lots of times. I know I had a back injury a few yrs ago. Hip was out for couple yrs. The xrays from a yr ago said that I have OA. I am losing weight but this hip leg thing bugs me. My hips are soo tired by the end of a shift that one more step...I don't want to. I can sit down for just a few minutes like 2 minutes and get back up and alot of that tiredness is gone. Enough so I can finish work but thsat tiredness comes back faster the next time. Tiredness in the hips and legs. Is this just my weight? I weigh less now than for yrs. Could RA work like this? Could it be I have both? No, medical advice..I just want to know if someone has anything like this going on and if so what ended up being your issue that caused it. This has been on my mind for a while. A little scared to know. I guess I should also tell you the back injury did rupture a disk in my back L5. Stretching is how I manage with that one.iT DOES NOT BOTHER ME MUCH as long as I stretch my back regularly. Thanks for any response in advance. Rhea Posted on 11/15/08, 07:11 am |

I had the same issues when I was not treating myself as a fibro-mite.But maybe it was the OA. its been better and I have not done it in all most a year now. but I did feel as if I was tripping over my own feet.

The only way I can describe it is very tired hips. Like to lift again and fast is impossible. Sorta then the longer I make myself go fast it eventually suddenly a breeze! No longer hard. Same on treadmill first 2 to 5 minutes JUST KILL ME! But if I make myself do it fster and fster finally it becomes suddenly easy as if my motors is slow to get moving but takes all the friction to finally make it like it should be easy. Does that sound nuts?

Is it possible that there is some deep pain issue that is causing your brain to loss focus? Deep pain is pain that goes beyond what the brain can register. It continues to effect you despite not feeling it because the brain still has to process the signals.
Sorry that I don't have a solution for you. If you try to relive the deep pain, you will start to feel the pain. That can be worse. No amount of narcotics in the world will relieve it. They just cause less deep pain and more conscious pain.

I have a balance problem. I don't quite fall completely over but catch myself just at the point of falling over. My feet catch on small things like yours do. I have OA and RA and Fibro. When I was being treated for Fibro I did not have this problem. The rheumatologist I see now does not believe there is such a thing as fibro so he will not treat me for that. He just treats my OA with prednisone and minocycline and that is all. I cannot find any rheumatologist in my area that will treat fibro. They all say it is not real. And that's the way it is.

Shoot! I was really hoping I was full of crap!
That it was something I already had and knew about. LOL! Well thanks, I guess I will keep on keepin' on! Going to the doctor early next week. Now I know more of what I want to discuss with her. Funny, I have a mother, retired RN and sis-in-law who have said they thought i HAD FIBRO. But I have seen commericals and what they show isn't me. I don't think. Love Rhea

Hi Tired,
So far this week, I've fell out of our truck and smashed my knee cap on the door and fell off my stepstool, crashing to the ground. I've had major imbalances for years, cracking my hands and feet on bath tubs, walls etc. I have post-streptococcal arthritis but was told I had Fibro. There is so much more to Fibro than what the commercials depict. It's not a little tenderness...it's downright agony. There's numerous other symptoms too. What I have found helpful is my new B12 injections for my Pernicious Anemia. Part of my problem now is feeling "normal" and not knowing how to handle it LOL as well as a renewed burst of energy. I have some hip techniques in my photo section. They've really helped me.

I trip often due to a nerve problem called "foot drop"- I had a terrible back injury that damaged the nerves that go to my feet, and sometimes I just can't get my foot out of the way and I stumble. It's worse when I'm tired. It might be worth checking with your doc to make sure this isn't a nerve problem that you're experiencing.

I took a FCE to give to the SSD and they check my balance I couldn't even do heal toe. I looked like I was drunk. I would almost fall over. I told the Therapist that it looks like I'm drunk or something. I said I probably would flunk a road test from a State Patrol and look like I was drunk. He said never say to the State Patrol that I think I look drunk. LOL!!
