Hi my friends like others have talked out cold weather and how it makes it worse. I have osteoarthritis in my foot and other foot is very painful just now and the last week the bottom of my spine making it so difficult to walk, bend or even sit, anyone else at this problem and any suggestions for some pain relief. I have currently on 4 different sorts of painkillers, had steriod injection, have been put in hard plaster and had c.t. scan and currently waiting for ultra sound scan so any advise or suggestions would be appreciated

" Hi Rose.
I have tried all kinds of painkillers and some of them in very high doses. The only thing that seems to help with the pain is that I am working on getting my body back to a normal alkaline state. When our body is acidic it eats away at our joints. I believe that all the medications I was on put me in that state.
Drinking lots and lots of purified water and occasionally putting baking soda in it particulary at night seems to be making a big difference - along with a more alkaline diet. I check my urine with PH tape from time to time to make sure I'm not getting acidic again.
I also love my heating pad when my hands and back are cold.
Hope this helps. Take care. "

" Hi PearID for all the advise, been back to the specialist and I now have osteoarthritis in both my knees and feet, but he says does not warrant an operation yet, my knees are swelling up and feet and by the time I am finished work I could not put into words how I feel. I am going for some physio next week and they are going to also get my into a place we call puffin pool which is big pools with warm water you can relax in so lets hope I get some relief. Thanks again my friend for taking the time to replyxx "

" Hi Rose,

I have terrible pain in my left foot. I have found that wearing crocs with socks helps alot. I have high arches and the crocs really help. Other than that...try not standing or walking for extended periods of time. If you do, try to prop your feet up (above your head and heart) for at least 20 minutes a day. "

" Sorry I don't have much advice for you. My feet and ankles are "gone" already from RA and OA. I wear custom fitted shoes and short leg braces for hobby walking!!! "
