Time for a second opinion with a second cardiologist. Don't fall into the trap of 'blind faith' in a medical expert. You are your own best advocate, of course your heart should not race like that all the time! I wonder if your dr. ever had to walk around with a pulse like yours...I doubt if he would let it continue untreated for too long a period!

I also have a very fast heart rate. It was doing what yours is doing and my cardiologist said it is very dangerous and put me on a beta blocker and another pill to slow it down and I havnt had any problems with it sense. Ask your Dr. about that.

I also have a heart rate that any time I take more than a few steps it can go up to 170. I was hospitalized and they tried me on 25mg of Metoprolol and it made my blood pressure drop to 83/40 and I slept for like 16 hours straight. Now I'm waiting to get into a cardiologist to see what can be done and I'm basically on bedrest until then. So, I think you should definitely get a second opinion since I was pretty much told not to do anything until I get into the cardiologist.
I also have an health condition that could be and most likely is causing this heart racing in me though.

A heart rate that high is not normal. An adult normal heart rate should be between 60 to 100 unless your exercising and then it goes higher to help pump the blood to your heart and other organs. You should never have a heart rate that high while resting or while doing casual activities like walking around. When they did your EKG the doc told you that the rhythm was normal just fast "sinus tach" but at that rate it won't be normal for long if they don't give you something to slow it down. Your heart is a pump "machine" it can not go on that way forever without breaking down......just like a machine. Get a second opinion as soon as possible.
