Have you guys been watching the medical examiner Dr. G's show? I'm getting scared out of my wits seeing how busy arrhythmia's keep her! Is this going to happen to most of us here? I hate to become a cardiac cripple, but the facts seem to be stacked against us. I wonder if others feel like a marked person and have the fear accompanying it!

I am an ER nurse, so I don't just see it on TV, I see it for real.
The only thing i can tell you is that most people that end up dead usually do not take care of themselves. I do my best to retain the attitude of a post-pubestant maximalist : "this will not happen to me". It's good to be educated on your illness but is is bad to be afraid, as I found out. When I worry, everything looks dim, I start having more palpitaitons. It's a bad cycle. The bright side of having a serious illness is that we have to think about how to live our days. sometimes I wonder is it worth for me to be angry at the kids for something stupid or should I call in and make a trip to the lake? Did I call my friends lately to tell them I miss them? you are going to be OK. Just like people believe in God, you have to have faith in your good future. hang in there!!!!

I don't mean to laugh, but I'm glad I'm not the only one who has watched that show and thought the exact same thing. Aronia has a great attitude. I wish I could say the same for myself. But...Let's just say I have my better days, and then the days of wanting to make sure everything is "in order".

Thank you, Aronia, for your thoughts on this. I agree that serious illness gives you much better perspective on what's important and what isn't. I try to keep in mind to not sweat the small stuff and *most* of it is small stuff.
