Even though I take a nightly dose of beta-blockers, my hubby's alarm clock makes my heart go through the roof with chest pain...I guess the pill wears off by morning.

Any advice or experience with this? I feel like I'm having a heart attack every morning.

" Sorry I can't help you with this one. I've never had a problem with alarm clocks. Try posting at the yahoo group for a-fib, there may be someone there who has a similar problem. Good luck. "

" Sorry to hear of your troubles. Why don't you try sleeping with ear plugs?? This may help. You might also try finding an alarm clock that doesn't have such a loud alarm. "

" Sometimes loud or sudden noises, even the little ding that sounds when I receive an email, cause a very anxious response and it seems to resonate in my heart. I wouldn't call it pain that I experience though. It's just a kind of anxiety, but I can certainly empathize with you! I've been trying to figure out why it's happening. Is it my medication? But it isn't happening all the time, not every day. Sometimes it occurs when my heart is out of rhythm, and sometimes when it's ticking like a metronome. I think one answer is like notallog said, get a less jarring alarm clock. "
