chairi headache vs. headache from a cold

I've had headaches for so long that I can't tell whether it's a chairi one or if I'm coming down with a cold. The headaches have gotten significantly better since starting the diamox, but the taste changes are hard to take. Everything tastes wierd or has a wierd aftertaste. Are there any other meds that anyone can tell me about? I refuse to have surgery unless I am unable to walk, talk, etc. If anyone can tell me of other meds they have tried that have been succuessful? Also I have developed a severe case of acne on my back which has spread to my shoulders. Could this be a med thng? There is no rash though. I'm seeing my doctor tomorrow , so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Have a great day all!

" I wish I could take Topamax. I'd love to lose weight, for one thing. And if it would help the all-over, deep nerve pain, then what a blessing that would be!! I'm so glad you have found it working for you, Becky.

The thing is, Topamax has a "black box warning" on it for anyone with bone disease (like osteoporosis). My hematologist who manages my osteo meds does not want me on Topamax whatsoever. Bummer.

Becky, you might should have a bone density test to be sure you are not dealing with bone disease. (if you haven't )....bone loss is something that is pretty much irreversible to any extent.
