Advice:
NS exam

Hello,
My 1st NS appt. is coming up. I feel as though some docs do the exam on you like pull this, push this they have you go through different motions with your hands and legs like they are testing for strength and ability. At the time of the exam you may not be experiencing much difficulty in these SIMPLE tasks, however this can change greatly day by day, or even moment by moment.
Any advice on how to address this when I see my NS for first time. Last appt with neuro doc (not surgeon) seemed not to go in my favor, like I was just a $ and not a person. I have three NS to choose from and made my appt. I do not want to waste my money on this but have to bite the bullet, some days my head is unbearable, or arm, or legs, but not always. Oh what to do....I am on unemployment since April 09, and do not see much hope in the future and feel as though my abilities are more limited now than then and want the doc to help me with filing for Social Security.
Thank you My Daily Strength Friends.
Karen

" Write out what your symptoms are very specifically and how they're impairing your life. Don't go with any surgeon who won't really sit down and listen to you! "

" I agree with Diane- know what you need to say before you get there. Consultants ask questions and distract you from the point you're trying to make! A good comsultant will understand that pain levels change from day to day. Good luck "
