Difficulty Breathing - what should I do

I just had an MRI a week ago, with results of a Chiari-1 8mm. I have an appointment in a week with a neurosurgeon and my PCP doesn't have experience with Chiari-1 so I feel like I'm in between Dr's right now. I have many symptoms, but I just started having breathing problems. I left a message with the NS, but haven't heard back yet. Last night for about 2 hours it took all of my focus to breathe until I thought of taking my daughters ashtma med, which helped. Do I need to worry about this or just deal with it until I see the NS next week? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd be contacting my GP. Not taking someone elses medication. If you're having to focus entirely on breathing then there's something to investigate.

Good Morning,
If along with the constant focus of breathing were you having any discomfort (tightness in your chest, heart palpitations)?? I'd either go to the ER in a situation like that in the future!! Good luck with everything if you have any questions drop me a line. Mark from Boston

Thanks for the advice. I agree about taking someone else's med, although at 4:30 in the morning it didn't seem like such a bad idea.
I hope you are doing well.

I would recommend you talk to you regular physician about this. This very possibly may not be related to you Chiari. I know I tried to blame all of my problems, symptoms on it, but there maybe other issues going on. In the event of another acute attack, I would go to an Emergency Room.
