I have a mild Chiari 1. (8mm)For 2 yrs I have had and still have and getting worse, imbalance when stressing my head now in any direction. Ihave headaches and terrible pressure in both ears.
Now neck and lt. arm pain. Doctor had been treating me for allergies. After MRI went to a surgeon, he said yes you have a mild case but do not need surgery. Neurologist told me to forget about it that it was a mechanical problem in my neck. My PCP wants me to get a second opinion. I feel if I do it needs to be in a Chiari Clinic,
? where do I go. New York is the closest but my gut feeling is Mayo in Minn. Long way from where I live. Should I just wait until I get worse and cant take it anymore or get down to the bottom of this. Frustrated. Any info. will be helpful,. Thankk youCC1

" I also have manny diferent probelms with presure and headaches and alot of pain and balance, with mucle spasms and walking problems. Well i have acutaly gone to tree diferent neurologists and also 2 surgens. They all have told me the same thing my Chiari is only 7 mm but it is causing must of my probelms. So my opinion is i would get a second and third opinion. I live in Canada but if i was in the US close to New York i would go to the Chiari Institution i have read and heard they are amazing. Well hope you feel better soon. "
