Excellent book. Also check out The Mindful Brain. Explains and teaches you how the moment of now works scientifically to change your neural pathways of the brain.
Exploring each moment as you were a scientist on an undiscovered island like Jurassic Park. Look how thrilled you would be with the uncertainty of discovering things beyond your wildest dreams. Everyday could be like that. Well not like that but we can change our relationship with ourselves and our thoughts. Our personalities would lighten up or maybe become joyful. Well mindful meditation is more than Jurassic Park. It is the spacious quiet side of our minds. Pure joy exists inside the monks minds who practice for decades, We are not capable of those achievements but we can heal or nervous system and be happy again. Good Luck
