Anxiety greater at home than out in the world

Hi - so many posts mention being "too anxious to leave the house". I was wondering if anyone here ever feels like they are more anxious when home alone than while at work or just out and about?
That's my case. Most of my panic / anxiety symptoms occur when I am home, alone (I live on my own) and I hardly ever experience them when I'm socializing, working or doing things like shopping. My guess is that the more time I have to focus on me and my symptoms, the worse they become. When I'm focused on the outer world, they dissipate. When I am going through a particularly difficult anxious period, normal weekend days at home are the worst for me. I wish I could just enjoy hanging out with myself and simply relaxing. I inherited my house from my parents and I think I associate being there with that loss (and feeling as though it's not truly "mine").

" Your probably right about your anxiety and you should try to do things by yourself that you truely enjoy. Such as, pampering yourself, reading, writing, just keeping yourself busy while at home. Talk to people at home more too if that helps. With the phone, net, text, etc.

Have you thought about selling your house and possibly moving to another place? You have to figure it out, if it's more important to hang on to what you inhereted or something different, completely your own. Hang in there! It will come to ya. "
