i've been on lexapro, for anxiety, for over a year now. recently my doctor added wellbutrin to that for depression AND trazodone at night when needed to help me sleep.
im already weary of taking meds, let alone 3. has anyone ever been on this combo or have any opinions on it? Posted on 11/05/09, 05:11 pm |

I'm on Lexapro and Wellbutrin, plus a couple of others. Instead of trazodone, I think my equivalent is Clonazipam. The meds you list are very common, and each has it's job to do. See if they even you out. Best wishes.

Ive been on lexapro but not 3 all at once. I think doctors are getting carried away with themselves and are dishing out drug s like smarties. Where's the help for us ? Are they all going to work miracles ? I've been on meds for years and still no better , at least if they cured us i'd say something, If i were you i'd go for theraphy , that would be money well spent . I just think 3 meds are too much, he's even given you meds to sleep , next it'll be meds to wake up. Meanwhile he wo't tell you how hard it is to get off them . Just do some research cos it can be the hardest thing. The drug companies are making a killing ,literally . Money money money thats all they care about . Good luck ! x

I cannot comment on the three meds you are on..but I myself am on a combined medication regieme. It has taken some time but they have improved my life.
I am working on other ways to help learn how to cope so that eventually I might be able to get off some of the meds. I feel the meds are neccessary for that wellness feeling so you can cope and do your life things lol..life things, man I couldnt think of the word like daily living hahaha. Anyway, its after you get where you are thinking clearly you can work on improving your situation and therapy would be a good place to go next. I agree that we can easily be overmedicated and that there has to be other solutions. There are vit and herbal supplements that help people or hypnotherapy..all sorts of things you can look into.

It's definitely an individual thing. I've tried the natural way and it worked for a little while, but ultimately, I went down again and had to go back on meds. I so wanted to avoid the meds, but haven't been able to live a normal life without them. I'm actually on five meds, so three sounds great to me! But, after hospitalizations, they finally found a combo that works. Good luck.

It gets frustrating.
I was on 5 meds at one point. You start to feel like a pincushion. Sigh ... one day at a time.

Right now im on xanax, luvox, tapering off effexor xr, tradazone for sleep.
It is a little scarey being on so many meds, i try and do my research online and go to med checker on line to look for possible reactions, if im then really concerned i talk to my doctor, she is very good at explaing things to me, i also think its a case of hitting jackpot and finding the perfect combinations which can take a few try,s. Warm Wishes. xx.
