Today is my first session with a hypnotherapist. I'm leaving for the appointment in about 10 mintues, and I'm anxious. The unknown makes me anxious.
Today, my hypnotherapist is going to hypnotize me and prepare my subconsious to change it's ways of thinking. I'm kind of scared, but also excited. I am so ready to be 'free' of anxiety. I will keep you all posted... Posted on 05/20/08, 01:05 pm |

My session went great! I'm already feeling a difference. It was a good experience and I can't wait to be finished. My parents even said I seem calmer. I suggest this to anyone who's interested, but do your research to find a good hypnotherapist.

Are you paying out of pocket? Insurance probably doesn't cover that, right?
Were you easily hypnotised? Did you have any friend or witness in the room to make sure nothing funny happenend?

what was it like? did you go completely under or could you tell what was going on around you? I see a psychologist who does the hypnotherapy, I have it done twice, and the first time it really seemed to help, but I don't know if I allow myself to go comletely under.

Doing that would really shake me up lol its all apart of a thing i need to have i must over most situation have complete control or i get completely anxious its an impulse i have cause when im in control i feel i can manage most things. plus hypnotherapy sounds expensive >

I'm going to a holistic therapist who works with EMDR, hypnotherapy and other modalities. I say: why not? I go to a naturopath and we've finally figured out what helps in terms of anxiety symptoms, now it's time to go in and find out where this anxiety is coming from. Alternatives are good. I know that can be expensive but so are psychiatrists/psychologists/doctors/ER visits and everything else we go through to deal with anxiety. Not to mention meds and since I'm not insured and neither are a lot of people I feel it's a good use of money, as good as any of used with conventional medicine.
