I just wanted people to know something that I learned the hard way. I am presently going up in my Paxil. The MD told me to take klonopin three times throughout the day to help with the jitters. Saturday I awoke feeling good so I decided not to take my AM or mid afternoon pill. I went out with friends and was happy to be part of life again. Easter morn did not tkae my Klonoopin. By late afternoon I was shaking and felt horrible. All day at work I thought i was crashing. I spoke to my Pysch guy and he told me you have to wean of Klonopin very slowly or you will get more anxious. Hope this will stop someone from doing what I did. I feel like I just took two steps backwards.

" I find that if I have been taking Klonopin for a while I get the physical symptoms of anxiety if i stop suddenly, but I guess I have a high tolerance for that. If the symptoms don't include the feelings of being out of control or worthlessness, I just put up with it like having a cold for a few days. Best thing to do is to taper of very slowly. "

" I am considering trying to stop taking Klonopin. I have only been on it for about four months. I went from taking it from twic a day to once a day and I can tell a big difference. I feel really anxious and feel like I am having heart palpations everyonce in a while. Is this normal for withrawal? "

" Hiya Just a quick question regarding withdrawal from klonopin. My dd is going to stop taking it next week, as per her doctor....his recommendation is to cut down from her normal a.m. and p.m. pills down to only one pill every other day and then after four days to completely stop. I think this is too rapid to get off of it....what do you think? Thanks, Cmm "

" Sorry, I guess I should also add that 95% of my dd's anxiety bouts are school induced and school ends a week after she'd be weaned off the med as per her doctor...thanks again cmm "
