I keep reading on here about people using breathwork to calm down. What exactly is breathwork? Is it where you breathe in and count to 4 and let it out slowly or is there more to it than that? I am wanting to try different things to help this horrible anxiety feeling bsides daily medications.

" Yes Cathy it involves inhaling slow deep breaths and as you exhale you do the same thing. As you do this mentaly calm yourself down as you breathe. You might have to pratice a few times but if you will keep trying you can master it.I was able to bring down my fast heart palpatations by giving myself a few minutes at doing my breathing. Now that I know how to control the anxiety even if they wake me up in an attack.I have are becomeing less and less frequent. So perhaps what we suffer with is part reality and part psychological. But never the less its worth a try to get them in check and dissassociate from their torment.
