PAIN PILLS.

A few years ago it got to where I couldn't sleep if I was too worried. I stayed up 50 hours straight one time, just wide awake not sleeping. I was delusional and it sucked. I can pretty much never get to sleep before 12 p.m. This is the result of MAJOR anxiety but also at this time I was addicted to caffeine.

So I messed around with different things and at times I would pop the sleeping pills. But I didn't want to get dependent on those. Something I found useful to this day (which is highly dangerous I know) is I would take rather large amounts of pain relievers(Advil, ibuprofen, aspirin) It relaxes me when I am home alone, so I could just lay down and relax. I didn't know it then but I was getting high off of it. I makes me all delusional and dizzy. So I thought this wouldn't be too bad besides I like always have a headache or some kind of pain. In most cases I don't like taking pain pills but last night I took 1300 mg and then took 500 mg more. I hate that this could soon result into an addiction. But as of now I have it under control, I am not an idiot I know my limits. I'm not going to take a whole handful Or try to kill myself!

I just take enough to make me fall asleep at night. It helps because it take away the pain as well as the sleepless nights. I guess in away it helps me cope with anxiety. I have become real fond of the pain pills because I like the feeling it gives me when I am stressed or upset. Is this a terrible thing?

" The hardest part of taking these medicines in large amounts is the damage that is done to your organs.

Instead of taking these medicines, try some green tea to help you relax.

The danger is in taking more than the recommended amount of medicine all at once, combining the medicines, and for stress and/or upset, it can make your stomach queasy. "

" Hi I saw your post. I too have struggled with the same thing for years. Dont be too hard on your self there are other soultions out there that actually work take it from me i am proof. i was taking Norco and Perks that I was prescribed from a car accident I was in and I founf myself taking it for pain but honestly I was taking it mostly to fall asleep. I was so concerned i was going to be addicted for life however I suprised myself and found several relaxation techniques THAT ACTUALLY WORK. I was amazed as I was soooo stressed out over my possible lifelong addiction. lol Trust me I am living proof that you are going to be ok. If you are interested I would be more than happy to share the solutions and websites that worked for me. "

" Taking large quantities of OTC pain relievers can really hurt your liver. Also, it could be that you are developing some kind of tolerance so that you actually feel MORE pain than you would if you got off them. I know that happens with narcotic pain relievers. And the fact that they make you "delusional and dizzy" also doesn't sound very safe. My suggestion is to try to find something less harmful to control your anxiety. Have you ever tried valerian? It's an herb, sometimes called "nature's valium", and it may help you relax and fall asleep in a safer manner. "
