Today's recession causing anxiety

Does anyone that is currently working feel they have to "prove" themselves day in and day out as an asset to their company. I'm a project manager for a major health insurance company and with rumors of layoffs and seeing unfortunate hardships with so many folks during this economy I have these anxious feelings if I couldn't finish a certain task. Then the worse possible situation kicks in, etc.............

" I totally understand your anxiety. This recession is scary, and it bothers me too. I do not work, because of a back injury. Even if I could, there are no jobs here where I live. My anxiety is a bit different ~ I am more anxious about the complete uncertainty and instability of the world we live in. You are very fortunate to have a job. I worry that the ways in which the world is changing, will lead to disasters. For example, the first being that the younger generation is having so much difficulty finding jobs. The next would be the chaos and violence in our world right now. I am also starting to question & worry about the weather conditions around the world. Here where I live, we are in a severe drought, and have had no rain in 4 months. This is freaking me out.
I really do not want to add to your anxiety ~ I am just being honest, and telling you that I can relate. Please don't become more anxious because of me. We all have worries and fears. We just have to keep in mind that unfortunately we cannot control what is happening. God must have a reason for what is going on. No matter what, He is watching over us. You are not alone in how you feel. My best suggestion is to take one day at a time ~ we cannot control the future. I hope this makes you feel better, if I have made you more anxious I apologize. "

" "God must have a reason for what is going on."

I wish that were the truth...

We are in a Modern era Depression. They(not god) won't call it that until it is year behind us and will continue to refer to it as a Recession. One lost decade will likely become two. In my estimation we have been in a depression since 2009. Unfortunately this stuff isn't gonna go away. I won't get into all of it now, but having anxiety over it certainly isn't going to help.

You can only do the best you can do. That is all any of us can do.

Peace be with you and your family. Stay strong minded.

" I think you just need to make sure you do some serious butt kissing. I feel like that is what you have to do to keep your job. I've always worked hard and proven myself, but yet the person who does not do neraly what i can do, either gets promoted or the better job. And that is usually because that person did some serious brown nosing and butt kising.

Then i hear about complete idiots who keep their jobs while the good ones are let go. It really does not make anysense to me anymore. What i do, i stay quiet. I do my job the best i can everyday. My boss knows it by my results and the numerous compliments from other people in the company about me. I had no idea other people in the compnay were gooing to her to complicment me until she told me one day "I'm very happy i hired you, I cannot tell you how many compliments and good rapor i get about you" That is what i do. Not sure how your role is set up. "
