Hi I'm on Celexa 20 mg and would like to know if its ok to drink with this medicine. Not much just 2 or 3 beer three times a week. Have issues that can't seen to cope with and it help even though not happy with doing it.

" I have been on Celexa for about 4 months now... I have drank a few times on it. Sometimes I'm fine when I do and sometimes it takes days to recover... like I didn't take my medicine in days. My advice is don't drink on it. "

" I've been on Celexa for years and I've drank on it and never had problems. I'm just a social drinker when I go out with my friends, so it's not any heavy drinking. At the most I ever have 2-3 beers and never usually finish the 2nd or 3rd. But I've never been a big drinker anyway. But if you're drinking to cope with your issues, then that's probably not a good idea, especially if you're not happy doing it. "

" I agree, drinking to cope is a bad idea. Also, the information that accompanies this med when you get it from the pharmacist advises against drinking while using it. Maybe you need an adjustment to your meds to help you cope? Or more time with a therapist or counselor? A nice long walk or bubble bath & a good book would be better than 2 or 3 beers. "
