" Rylie, You can tap your fingers like you are playing a guitar, and if anyone asks, you're doing your finger exercises.

Remember to relax, breathe, and enjoy the surround sound - it will give you a different rhythm, and you may find it relaxes even more.

Best wishes. "

" I mean that Mideye had the tapping idea and maybe you can add listening to music to that? "

" Can you take a harmonica with you? They're easy to learn and fun to play. Just a thought. "

" Does anyone in your family also play the guitar? You might have relatives who can share theirs with you.

You could also look into renting one while you are there. Just a thought. "

" you cant play it with headphones. Maybe you can get a smaller guitar for you to take on trip. Know how it is. Anything to keep u calm. Maybe you have another hobby. Try to come up with something. "

" I don't know if you are flying or not but You are allowed to bring musical instruments on planes. I have seen people checking them in as a carry on. And they can fit in the overhead compartment. Unless you are on a really small plane. It depends I suppose on the size of aircraft. but I have seen standard size guitar fit in the overhead.

I think what the others have suggested are all possible options for you.

I hope you will be able to relax and find a way to enjoy yourself. Have a safe trip. "

" My first thought was also harmonica, on account of : they are awesome, and sound really cool and bluesy.

Also, as somebody mentioned, if it's about taking your guitar on the plane, you can totally do it, and bring a purse also! I've done it before.

If it is the sound you are worried about, I suggest taking up knitting.

Just tell people that you absolutely love knitting and you need to be doing it at all times.

Sketchbooks are good too. . . "
