I HAVE HAD MOST BAD SIDE EFFECTS WITH MOST,BUT I DID TRY CELEXA AND I STARTED OUT ON HALF A DOSE IT MADE ME FEEL KIND OF NUMB AND I DID NOT LIKE THE FEELING ,MY SISTER TAKES IT ,IT HELPED HER A LOT SO WERE ALL DIFFERENT BUT DO NOT BE AFRAID TO TAKE IT JUST START SLOW ,IT MAY OR MAY NOT HELP YOU BUT WORTH A TRY , BOTH MY SISTERS ON ANTIDEPRESSENTS AND THEY HELP THEM , BUT I AM SUPER SENSITIVE, SO GOOD LUCK,HUGS SQUARLEY

Well.....I was prescribed Celexa by a psych doc and I am already on Remeron. The doc thought that my having panic attacks still and my crying episodes could be helped by Celexa. I got the prescription then did not take it. I went back to doc and told her that and she said no biggie, just let her know if I ever thought I needed anything more..

I dont understand either how it would be different. I think what you could do is to look it up and decide if you can tolerate it and what it does and then decide for yourself. I was think that the psych doc ask me too many questions as to why I did not want to take Celexa or ask me-Don't I want to get better?

But she didn't, she said that it is my choice, and that is what it is-your choice. Research and think about whether you could take it. I've been on a few that I thought were not helping, but the one I'm on now really has helped me. Good luck to you

Celexa has different componentes in it and don't have as many side effects, as "Squarley" said it work different on everyone start slowly I am up to 60mg and do wonderful on it. I didn't do well on any other ones had bad reaction to them. I say if your doc prescib. it why would it hurt to reach it and see if it would help. If you notice bad reaction to it after a week or so call your doc and stop taking it. Its all about trial and error. Good luck. Hope you find something that will help you.

I have tried many antidepressants and antianxiety medications.
I take Cymbalta now and it works really well. No nasty side effects at all. I also take Klonopin, and tho many doctors are hesitant to prescribe it i think it works wonderfully :)
My husband takes Celexa for depression and anxiety, and i can Always tell if he hasn't taken it. It works very well for him.

Celexa is the only one I've ever tried that I had NO side effects from. Sadly, after many years of using it, it stopped working and now I'm struggling to find something that will help that I don't get side effects from, but I did great on Celexa. Good Luck

I did get side effects from Celexa - heart palpitations.... I would suggest you check the recorded side effects, and see if you can live with any of them....

Everyone is so different. ALl of these meds can cause significant side effects so always check with your doctor. I had palpitations from Effexor, WEllbutrin and Cymbalta. So you just never know.

Hi everyone is different. Taking it now and am fine had few side effects that wen away after five or so weeks.

Thanks everyone! I have tried the Celexa for a few days, and I am wondering if it is increasing my nausea. I have pre-existing stomach problems, so that would not be good if it is actually increasing my nausea. I have read that this can be a side effect. If this is the case, then I won't be able to continue on it.

I was on Celexa because my dad took if when he was diagnosed with panic disorder and it made me loose a ton of weight (which wasn't a good thing), feel numb and gave me "anger issues." That is the only way I could describe it because I would get so VIOLENTLY angry with people it was scary. Since being off it I have been fine. Everyone had said at that time I was "a hot head" or had a "bad temper" which is never how I was known before. But everyone reacts differently to different meds so just proceed with caution.
