" I used Ativan for over 10 years, and it worked fine. It's been so long I had to change meds, I'm now taking Klonopin. "

" Another brand name is Xanax, which people may be more familiar with. I took it for a while, but it started taking me, if you know what I mean, and I had to stop. "

" I took Xanax for three years and as clutter said, it does take you. I started on a small dose of 5 mg twice a day and it got up to 6-7 a day/ I called it my miracle drug because it allowed me to hide from reality. Everyone has the choice to take this drug or not but everyone needs to know how addicting this drug is and before you know it, it has taken over your life. "

" I think fo rme Ativan has truly been a good thing, I take 1mg in the morning, and only if I'm having a very extreme attack (where nothing else will work ie, self talk, breathing excercises) I will take another to calm down. "

" ativan works great for me. I take it as a as needed basis. Somedays I take a couple and other times I can go days on end without any, just depends on how severe the anxiety is and how much suffering I can tolerate that day.
It is a quick, fast acting relief pill.
I also take Seroquel three times a day, but it is not fast acting and it is meant for the long term results for anxiety, like an SSRI. "

" I take xanax. My prescription is for .5 mg. up to 4 times a day. I take it for 2 reasons - one is anxiety and panic attacks and the other is neuropathy (nerve pain). I tried every nerve pain on the market - none of them helped. Amazingly, I was given xanax to help my anxiety and its made a huge difference in my nerve pain. "

" I take .5mg of Xanax. It has really helped me. However, I did notice if I don't take it as prescribed, I notice the anxiety build up. There were several days where I didn't feel that I needed it, so I didn't take it. Then the next day, I had what they call "rebound anxiety". So, until my Paxil takes full affect, I'm sticking to what they tell me to do. "
