overcoming fear of group setting

I need to go for another interview in a group setting but the last one was miserable! My heart raced faster as it got closer to my turn to speak. I said very little, my voice was shaky and breathing tips don't help. I want to know how to overcome my anxiety when placed in the center of attention. Tips? Advice?

" I too had a group interview and it was overwhelming! However I was fortunate the group was friendly and had a sense of humor. I felt like I was opposite a panel of many. I have now had about 4 of these under my belt, from when I was working.
I can say it feels almost like that same kind of panic I use to get from public speaking and I remember how difficult it was on where to place my hands and feet, excetra. Made me very self consious.
I use to work for HR, and the only thing I can think of to maybe help is...do you have a friend who can ask you questions to practice? first maybe writing out possible questions and the answers to them, then practicing? That might make you more comfortable. Talking outloud answers that might be posed to you..like what are yourstrenghs and weaknesses? That kind of thing.
Remember all they are doing is trying to see if you will fit in well. It isnt really about your own person, its about your skills. Maybe reminding yourself how valuble you are, like writing out all your skills and positives would help you feel a bit more confident as well.
Its so different for women as we tend to view work with more emotional levels of do they like me? and men are often taught how to deal with it on a business means of do I answer to their needs..if they dont like me fine..someone else will.
Maybe prior to the apt you could try a relaxing technique as well, where you try to envision yourself in a tranquil place..or do hypnotherapy?
hope some of thisn may help you. "
