Bad Anxiety and Panic Attaks

Hello

I am 19 years old and i suffer from really bad anxiety i take horrible panic attaks that can last for hours and sometimes days ! does this happen to anyone else if so add me as a friend as i could really do with talking to someone that shares similar feelings. When my attaks triger i feel like i cant breath sometimes get a soar chest and my lips n hands go cold :( they are really scary !! also get really bad nausia and my head feels stuffy please get in touch xxxxx

your not alone lovie, i also get anxiety that can last days to weeks and get the nausea you do.
Are you on any meds? and do you see a phycologist, a cycologist can help you change your thinking patterns.
I also find that yoga, breathing exercises, progressive muscle relaxation tape from my physcologist help, along with my meds.
when im having attacks i clap my hands and say no and focus on my surroundings, looking at colours texures, what people are saying ect also helps.
I know how hard and scarey this is, please now your not alone and that you will have lots of support and frendship here on this site.
The serenity room is a very posotive room, i know you,ll find plenty of support there.

i am a 29 year old female, i suffer from simular outbreaks, some times even the answering the door or even the phone is a problem, as i feel nervous, and my heaert rate goes up, my vision sometimes is blurred, and my hearing is affected. my most recent episode was leaving the house to go to the shop, i heard voices outside and closed my door, i had to wait 5 minutes and tell myself to get a grip. :) "

" I used to have really horrible anxiety everyday. My nausea was 24/7, the choking feeling, loss of appetite, the attacks... I could go on! I am now managing my anxiety alot better but I still have my bad days. Feel free to get in touch if you like, as I find that talking to others is a good way of gaining support and understanding. I live in Peterhead, Scotland. I had very bad anxiety in 97, but I learnt a way of ridding it almost completely. I didn't use any medication from the doctor, as I think they are way to powerful and damaging, with side effects and they can also become addictive. I used a combination of two natural products: Theanine (which is in tea) and Kava Kava. The Theanine is in tablet form and can either be bought on the internet or in a health food shop. The Kava Kava can only be bought on the internet from www.biovea.co.uk. I have been taking these two products now for two years and what's great is there are no side effects!! But they really work well. The thing with them is, that you must keep taking them. In 1997 I put my anxiety level at 90/100, it was destroying me and I couldn't run my life, as it was running my life for me. Now my anxiety level is no more than 5/100, in fact sometimes I wonder whether it's too low! It's actually good for humans to have some degree of anxiety / fear as, otherwise we'd be walking under buses! Anyway Laura, if you want any more info on this let me know. I know just how soul destroying anxiety is and I thank god I'm not there any more.

I was about your age when they first began to really get bad. There had been a death in the family and I just went off my head -- always anxious, panic attacks would jump me from behind again and again through the day.

I got into therapy and on medication and there was a day I was walking from school to see my shrink, it was late November and it was snowing and New York City seemed so quiet and peaceful. I told my therapist "Who could be anxious on a day like today?"

She laughed and said, "That's it, kiddo! It's a point of view. Hold on to it!"

I laughed along with her.

My point is that it took time to start finding a sense of peace and serenity, it took time to feel safe in my own skin. Today, I am grateful for the journey. If I had never know anxiety I would never have learned about the peace at the center of my being. "

I too suffer from the most awful anxiet, and panic attacks. I had been in therapy for years, and found my way through them. I also sound tanning salons, the beach, and exercise.

Well 4 years ago my life changed, amd I became disavbled over night, and could not walk for over 17 months, nor ever work again to support myself. So now it has all come back. I can't do any exercise due to my back, but the beack, and tanning salon do really help.

Other than that anxiety is a disorder, and needs to be worked out in therapy, and to have something to take for it until you process what it is that's triggering you. It is an outside event that brings them on, and we think these negative thoughts to the point we are in a full blow Panic Attack.

You do have to learn tools to deal with them, and yes you can get past them in time.
It just sounds like you need that extr help, and support right now, and it's ok to ask for it, don't suffer. "
