Does any ones anxiety seem to peak or be at its worse when sick. I have started getting the flu for the last few days and my anxiety has returned ten fold. I have had a very dry mouth for around a week and have been drinking lots of water. My mind starts to think what could be wrong, maybe diabetes. Then start thinking about how to treat that when i havent even been diagnosed for god sake. I am really tired and feel like i want to take small naps throughout the day when normally I am so busy enjoying house work and my children. I also have a wonderful husband who is so supportive and helps me out so much. Does anyone think i should get this dry mouth problem looked at by the doctor or am i just being silly. (PS - Never had it before)

" If you have the flu you have the flu. You are thinking to much. You are feeling sick then start thinking about other thing. What if what if, stop thinking about the swine flu. I worked in Toronto Ontaro Canada this was one of the hot spots for sars. The news had everyone in a panic. We had mechanics scared to get in customers cars. We were wearing masks and rubber gloves. I was hell if someone sneezed of coughed everyone went into a panic. The news has to stop this crap and stop panicking people. Sorry sort of got off topic, stop thinking about anxiety and the things that trigger it. "

" Thanks for all your advice everyone. Isoman the lexapro worked really well for me. The first time i took it i felt really awful but the following day so much better. I havent been on it for quite some time though, but when i did need it, it allowed me to get back to work for half a day which is something that I wasnt able to do when i wasnt on any meds. Good luck. I have follow up docs app on wednesday so i will keep you all posted with the blood tests i am having today, YUCK "

" I am sure the new med will take a while to really give you the full benefits.

I myself can get worse when I am sick, though health is not an anxiety trigger for me. I think its because you are miserable and you feel so sick you are not up to doing anything to occupy your mind. What has helped me, good positive music that is soothing, like soft hits lol but for heavens sake not elevator music! lol. also, watching something funny on tv, nothing heavy NO news, readings something fun,,,though often I cannot concentrate when I am in this state "
