Advice:
Switching meds and withdrawls

I was just wondering if anyone else experiences withdrawl symptoms when they switch you from one med to another? This happens to me everytime i have to switch. i hate because the anxiety just gets worse and makes me think the new med is not working or not going to work. i am working on my self esteem and positive thinking right now so i am giving this new med longer time to see if it is going to work. just curious if anyone goes through this.

" Hi, you can't stop taking meds cold turkey. Your physician will tell you to decrease the mg and wean you off. Going off meds on your own could cause a seizure.

Usually a new med takes about 3 to 4 weeks to recognize whether it is helping or not. If you're having side effects soon after you start taking the meds call your doctor!

Many meds work cumulative & can take a while until you notice if the med is or is not helping. Don't stop taking a prescription med on your own. You need to call the doctor who prescribed the med to you. The doc will slowly take you off by decreasing the mg within about one week. "
