" I take wellbutrin sr. You are not supposed to drink with it that is true. BUT, unless you took a nose dive into a gallon of vodka you'll be okay. : ) "

" I used to get REALLY sick when combining alcohol with any of my anti-d's, so be careful of that, and you never know what the effects of drugs and alcohol can do to your body in the long run. "

" I have been taking Wellbutrin SR (twice a day) for 10 years. The XR was not as effective for me. I drink a glass or two of wine just about every night, and more on the weekends. I feel like the effect of alcohol is greatly increased because of the Wellbutrin. I would not drive even after one glass of wine because I don't feel in control, so please make arrangements for a ride if you are out and drinking. "

" Drinking while taking these kinds of meds is not a good idea. I had an experience last november over the thanksgiving holiday where I had just a little bit too much wine (3 glasses) and a can of diet coke. The mixture of the anti-depressant, alcohol, and caffeine was a nightmare. When I got home, I was so disoriented that I didn't even recognize the front door of my own house when I tried the key.

Anti-depressants effect the chemicals in your brain, and mixing that with other mind altering substances is not safe.

Be careful! "
