Hi Donna,
I have been on prednisone for a full year now but it took a lot for my rheumy to prescribe it to me as it is very bad for us (causing long term side effects) and it horrible to get off of...I would try to avoid it. When I was first diagnosed my rheumy did put me on a prednisone pack to kick start the anti-inflamation process since plaq. can take so long to kick in. Its a week of steroids and it tapers you while you are taking it. I had been on that a few times before and had no problem with it. It actually helped alot. Not all dr.s will prescribe it for you since its so bad for us to be on. I had no other choice to go on it full time and I am now starting to taper off of it which I have FAILED to be able to do 3 times already. As your dr. if they can give you a pred. pack, Worst they can say is NO and there is good reason behind it....Sadly...I wish I could stay on 10mg of pred. forever.....Feel free to message me. I have a support group specifically for people sick from APS. If you want to join, I can give you the address. Im glad that you dont have MS and that you finally got an APS diagnosis. Hugs
