" Hi Donna,
Nausea can be a symptom of APS....I had constant nausea before my dx. Once I was on the plaquenil for a few months it pretty much went away. I still get it occassionally but not nearly as often or as bad as I did before starting my meds...

Just so you know, plaquenil is very slow acting...It can take 1-3 months to see any noticable difference in your symptoms. Dont get discouraged. It will help your symptoms and Im glad you have been put on it. You may be increased to 400mg a day. That is the therapeutic dose of the plaquenil for APS. Also, Plaquenil thins the blood a little, so once you have been on it for 3 months, you may need to decrease the aspirin to 81mg. You dont want your blood to be too thin. That could be dangerous too. The plaq. can cause nausea as a side effect for the first couple of weeks. You may want to see if your dr. can prescribe you Zofran to help with it. I hope the plaquenil helps you like it helped me..After being on it for 6-8 months almost all my symptoms went away (and I had/have a lot of symptoms from APS). I will keep my fingers crossed for you.
Hugs "
