" The blood chemistry just shows what's going on with your blood.
The EKG shows an electrical picture of what's going on with your heart. There are many reasons for what might be considered a "heart attack", but most are caused by either a blood clot or arterial plaque, in other words, some portion of the heart just isn't getting adequate circulation.
The heart muscle, like any other muscle, has to have an adequate supply of nutrients and oxygen. If that is cut off any muscle will stop working. If it's seriously diminished the muscle will have trouble working. Either of those conditions aren't good.
But not having any problems with your blood work is actually good news.
If your doctor and/or the medical staff has stabilized the condition and can figure out what caused the problem in the first place, you may have just dodged a bullet, so to speak.
Talk to your doctor some more. Next time you visit ask WHY you had the problem and what you can do to prevent it from happening again.
If you have high BP, that can be the primary reason you had the problem in the first place, but your doctor is the best place to get the information you need. Nobody can guess with any degree of accuracy until they've had a chance to look at ALL of the test results. "

" Usually it's the other way around. I had that happen to me. I guess it's not always by the book for each person. "

" Hi to all....
This is my first time here and I am so happy to have found this site. I just came home from the hospital 3 days ago and I have been looking for all the information I can find to help me understand what is going on with me. I am having all kinds of feelings which from reading this site, is normal. I was told by my cardiologist that I had a heart attack. Technical term coronary vasospasm. Everything I have read according to my symptoms says it is variant angina. I would appreciate any info from someone who is dealing with this. Heart cath came back no blockage. Blood levels were elevated so is that why the cardio says it was a heart attack? Thanks for any help! "
