Just some observations I have made. Something to chat about.
My angina mostly hits my left fingers or tips. For, me exercising also seems to help me and make my angina go away or lessen it. When I exercise and get in really good shape - it completely go's away. I am left handed Coffee takes away Angina pain for me sometimes. I have had Angina my whole life even when I was a boy, but its severity never limited me when I was little. Posted on 12/29/07, 01:12 pm |

ahhh interesting! ...someone to compare notes with. I've been having the odd spider crawl under my skin across my chest , the odd poke here and there in the chest which is just like a sudden jab that goes away just as fast as it came and then for the big thing which is tightness in the chest and a tough time breathing . That seems to come with overeating mostly but today I was thinking about coffee and asthmatic reactions being the possible reason for the shortness of breath or maybe just maybe I'm borderline emphysema anyhow a good chance of permanent brochial damage from having smoked most of my life . Yesterday I refused dental work because my BP has been up and I just couldn't wake up sooo after having a record long day of going through stores (my exercise) with my wife and kids my feet hurt and I was tired but I really felt good from the all day excersion ...no pain , no spiders , no jabs , nothing not even really that tired just that good feeling one has after working hard like I used to (weird).

Hi-
yea, I like that good mellow feeling one gets after working. Its a nice feeling that sets you at ease.. Anyway, ever get that spider crawl in your cheek, lips or sides? Also, I wanted to note to you that your not the only one! I get those feelings in my teeth and jaw with regards to the angina. Glad your feeling well. Hang in there bro, John

my internist doctor said its likely that the pain in my lower jaw is not angina because if it was I would likely have had another heart attack by now (its fairly constant)My dentist has almost completely fixed all my teeth now and she doesn't know why I have the exact same pain in exact same spot on either side of my jaw .IT'S A MYSTERY but whoa is it hard living with that going on in my jaw month after month now since my MI .I have had severe pain in the jaw and teeth one doctor called in an internist from toronto and he as the first to claim that it could likely be angina so it remains to be nothing more than a confusion . I don't really get pain in the chest the worst rating I could ever give any doctor who asked the rate your pain question was 3 out of ten but 50 out of 10 in the jaw .
I had a cholesterol test done last week and that was an 8 out of ten in the chest which felt like about 20 kabob skewers going into the sternum and coming back out just as quickly . I contribute that to going into a warm environment from the cold (I hope).

Whatever you had when you were "a boy" was prob not angina. If it was you would have such bad coronary artery disease that you would be dead my now. I can almost gaurantee it.

Sorry Scoutster, but babies are NOT born with coronary artery disease. Maybe you should re read that web site you posted. Did your mom have diabetes. according to your web site that would explain your "low intelligence"!!!

you're an ICU nurse ? whew I'll try not to get on you're bad side anyhow I have a neice who went through quite a bit of heart surgery as a baby I'm sure she can describe pain on the occasion and possibly could throughout life growing up and from time to time .I believe she is 4 years old now . I agree continuous angina would inevitably lead to a heart attack that much does make sense . I had an MI and I don't think I even don't know what angina is but I can say I can have a continuous tightness in the chest for weeks or quick stabbing sensations ,somehow I think my jaw problem is some form of nerve damage after or during the MI . I don't doubt a person can live with lifelong pain known as Angina. I know for a fact you can get that same pain in your arm from weight lifting as what a heart attack can give you and the bloating stomach too just not as intense also when angioplasty opens up that blocked artery in the heart and you can feel the same sensation before and after the angioplasty and when an internist tells you its nothing then you know he/she has serious limited knowledge about heart disease , I've learned alot and I'm still learning but I've experienced first and how little doctors know about heart problems and trust me 5 out of 5 doctors including 2 internists wrong is a pretty good concensus of their intelligence . I was sent a questionaire twice asking me about my visit and if any harm was done to me ...3.5 months of suffering breathing problems hard to climb stairs , tired , choking , closing up trachia, numb hands and feet ,numerous stethescopes placed on my chest sides stomach and back EKG , chest Xrays ... then an ambulance ride with between high BP and stage one BP referenced as in need of a pink pill for indigestion followed by 13 hours of pain pain pain and a massive headache from nitro nitro and more nitro and then angioplasty which took away the pain instantly ...now heres the clencher to whole thing THE SAME BLOOD VESSEL HAD 2 BLOCKAGES . You decide was harm done to me ? or are all medical professions really that wise ? All this stuff is documented I can't lie about any of it it would be impossible now you should have seen the look on all their faces when I said unless you are specificly looking for heart problems you'll never find them . Never thought I would see so many stumped expessions and the best answer I got was There are Gray areas and ...you can't hear a blockage with a stethoscope . These are not nurses they are doctors . Can you hear pain with your stethoscope ?. Noone has played that game of anxiety and depression with me yet but when and if they do I know it usually means they just don't know and instead of admitting it they use that dumb comment, ... although often it can be anxiety or depression too but not always . Don't ever talk to me like that I'll make you look stupid . No offence but you could be in the wrong profession . Peace

I just joined this group as I have angina and I had no one to discuss this with. I'm relieved to see I'm not crazy. I'm sorry that you get these symptoms. I also get numbing and pain in the last three finger of my left hand. If I don't take my nitro my neck, jaw and teeth will also be affected at times. I also have asthma but hate using my inhaler it makes my heart race and when you have heart disease this is upsetting and scary. I'm sorry that anyone would insult someone or challenge them in their own post. I am not a medical professional but it seems to me that challenging someone on how they feel and felt is out of line. I've had enough people telling me that I'm to young to feel so badly or I must be depressed etc.
Yes I've had the odd spider crawl and other pains, usually going away with nitro and continuing to take all my other meds. I would like some advice about exercise and diet to go over with my Dr.

For me, I experience sharp pains through the left shoulder, down the left arm terminating in the left forearm. When I take my nitro pills it lessens somewhat but doesn't totally go away.
What have you experienced and how have you dealt with it?
