yesterday i went back to cardiologist for the results of this 48 hour monitor... ok someone please explain this to me.. first my heart is beating to fast... very fast.. the bottom valves they say might have a leak and that is causing my top valves to beat faster... i had a stress test done back in february of this year.. did fine.. my blood work came back fine.. nothing wrong with it at all.. so .. why is my heart beating to fast.. during the 48 hours. i had a few episodes where my heart rate was VERYVERY high.. and at that time i was sleeping? i had a echo done.. but the hospital doesnt have any records of it or results.. so i had to get another one at the dr.office.. so.. i am on meds.. lopressor.. at which he raised the dosage.. i will hear in a couple of days about the echo and just see how the leakage is doing..BUT anyone out there tell me what all this means? in the mean time.. im not allowed to over do anything and take it easy and if i have really severe pain go to ER? WHAT am i supposed to be thinking? im 38 yrs old... what does all this mean? HELP..

" Of course, doctors will want to consider the worst possibility and initial treatment will include whatever it might take to prevent further problems, just in case that's what it is.
If you don't have the results of the Echo yet, it could be as simple as an electrical problem that can be treated with medication, or it could be something a lot worse that requires surgery to correct.
The fact is, until the doctor gives you the results, you don't know so just try to do what he says.
It's scary I know. I didn't particularly like what the doctor told me when I went in, but somehow I made it through and I'm sure you will too.
Please, let us know how you're doing and what the doctor finds. "

" I have my doubts about those heart monitors, especially the ones you wear home. I think the anxiety of wearing it affects the results. Well, that's just my opinion. "
