Metoprolol the sex life killer. My dose is so high I am lucky that biking gets my heart rate up. It works wonderfully, because if I forget to take in on time, the heart does race and dance but once it is in my sytem I can function. But really does not help in the private side of life. Recommendations take it as prescribed, tip...don't have a heart attack!

twanda ...good greif I can't stop laughing that is sooooo funny . You described metropolol so well lol I take 25mgs twice per day and can't get the heart pumping wildly either . I cycle and shoot baskets and thats basicly it . I last about 20 min in the basketball court and when I cycle too hard things just start falling asleep so I have to coast for 10 seconds or so lol . Good descripton twanda I don't think I could have described it better lol .

I take this medication 75 mg 2 times a day .. Works wonderful!Only problem i have with it. .IM so TIRED.. but I can live with that.. And yes it is a sex killer..

OMG.. so funny. my cardiologist just raised my meds to 200mg a day.. totally dead in the bedroom.. metoprolol 200mg.. can u believe that? trust me my heart doesnt beat fast at all now ..

Hmmm I havent had any trouble with the sex thing... Maybe because I am on a low dose? Since I have been taking it I havent had major chest pain all of it has been minor.

Im on that medication too 200mg a day .. Works wonderful , I am very tired though,, and sleep most of the time.. but no more chest pain.. Ya, its a killer in the bedroom!

Hi. I'm new and I've been taking metropolol for about a year 50mg xl. I haven't found it hlps my angina too much but now I know why I'm so tired. I am on other meds for the angina this was actually for my BP which it does work on.I'm curios about others who've taken this and how it affects them.

I've been on Metoprolol for eight years now and it does a good job at keeping my heart rate down. But I get so sleepy with it durring the day, but at night I can't sleep. And the sex thing, it's a killer.
