Advice:
Did anyone take Mentopolol and diltiazam together/

I'm sorry I know the 2 medication names are misspelled because I didnt take the time to go upstairs to look at my bottle. I take both Metopolol and diltiazam for high blood pressure and angina. My blood pressure is still high and I still have all sighs of angina. I've been taking this combination for 5 months now and I don't think they're really helping. It so darn hard to get an appt. to see my cardiogist.
Any advice please

" okay I've been living the same scenario for 8 months now and have come to realize that unless I am goin gin on a stretcher I'm not going to go help so heres what I have learned from bits and peices from members of DS ...I now have started taking Omega 3,6,9 and eating better too I also take probiotics and plan to take a much more holistic approach because these natural vitamins are doing good things to me and I am feeling better to the point where altace was removed as one of my meds for a 1 month trial and I didn't fair well without so I went back on but Metropolol has been cut in half as a two week trial and I feel okay ...if you are having angina pain my suggestion would be to go to the ER this is your lfe not theirs , you need to know you are okay even if its just for reassurance and don't feel ashamed about doing so . " I really am a firm believer that exercise and losing weight is the winning ticket. Raising HDL and lowering LDL is a start. How are your numbers, right now? (Have you tried Niacin? Google Niacin )Niacin can be beneficial. I actually, took it and felt better in 1 day. Try to understand the disease - the arterial system in the human body is a highway for blood. Some peoples highway accumulate plaque and cholesterol at a much more ferocious rate than others. If you or anyone for that matter that has CAD and wants to live, you should understand you have a chronic disease that never go's away. Meds and supplements can only go so far. The winning ticket is weight loss, portion control, and exercise which raises HDL. And, sometimes when you do everything right, you still need by-pass surgery. I firmly believe that staying proactive with this disease and even going in for by-pass surgery when you don't have a blokage is an excellent proactive stance. Better days ahead for you. Fight the good fight. God Bless "
