Carotid Artery Aneurysym
Monday, June 8, 2009 | An Anxious story Hello All... Our Mom is 91 years old..in the physical & mental health of a woman in her

70's...after tests she is diagnosed with the above Anny on her right side of the upper neck. I am waiting to confer with the surgeon as I write this... Is this particular type and location so uncommon that I only see 1 post regarding this. My 2 sisters and I are "emotionally drained" and any helpful words will be appreciated. Mom goes back & forth on wheter she wants the surgery or not. Risks either way. Has anyone experienced a similar case with these symptoms AND age? Should a second opinion be sought? Thank you..

" My aneurysm was in my brain and ruptured. I do not know anything about this type your Mom has. Is there no where you can go to look up info on it? I will try and get back to you. Today we go see my 2 doctors to find out their decision on my new annie so I will ask them if they know anything on her type. Hang in there. Someone may see your post and have the info you need. She sounds like a very well adjusted woman who has taken good care of herself. "

" Re: 2nd opinion @ Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. GREAT...!! they retested Mom (they will not use any information or results from other facilities) the surgeon we consulted with had recently done a very similar patient, age-wise and same area. Complete success! We will all be going back for the surgery in 4-6 weeks..Thanks for thoughts and prayers.. "
