Hi group I have a lot of personal experience with coils and had an avm gamma knifed. But in December I'll have my first clipping can anyone give me a heads up on what to expect and side affects. They are going in to check all my coilings in November. Take me off blood thinner before the December surgery. It has been a tough year and I'm not looking forward to all this, but can't live through another rupture!

" Dear Sque,
The side affects of a clipping are truly minor compared with living through a rupture. I lived through a rupture so I understand where your coming from. People that I know who have had a clipping told me very little and temporary side efffects dissappearing within weeks. God bless, Eric "

" I've had clipping on 10/13/11, they had to thicken up my blood w/platelets. Sorry I can't compare it to coils. This was my 1st and hopefull my last aneurysm. It started leaking so they monitored me closely, was in ICU til they built my blood up thicker.
My opinion, it hurts like HE!! but compared to what COULD have happened, I'm good! U will be ok, after the 1st week, dramatic improvements will be seen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck and many blessings to you! "
