Bleed from ICA extradural annie

This site is amazing and special thanks to Ruthie for the information she has sent me.
Has anyone had a bleed from ICA EXTRADURAL aneurysm and if so how was your recovery.I now realise the 'bleed out' means extradural but the 'don't worry' bit is a load of rubbish. The doctor said when I had the coiling for another annie and I quote ' if the aneurysm is extradural then no further treatment will be required'
The annie arises from the lateral aspect of the left carotid siphon and at last MRI was 14mm.
How worried should I be??? Thanks in advance for any replies.

" Hi cazs, I do not have any ruptures yet (2 annies here). Talk to as many neuro-surgeons as you can.

You should be concerned. I recommend you do a angiogram which involves a little bit of cutting and pain but its for the best accuracy and you will do it as out-patient.

If you google up the aneurysm information, you would find annies >7mm have 1% - 5% of rupture rate a year, generally speaking. THAT is high in my option, ruptured annies are deadly. (That gives you a little bit of how I feel now). I havent done the surgery yet.

How long has your annie been coiled? What was the size and location? Do you suffer any disabilities now? How do you feel in general post-op?

Good luck and be well. "

" OK from a ruptured annie person they CAN be deadly but I'm still alive to tell the tale. An angiogram is the smartest idea possible! Do it soon hon.... "

" Angiogram is GREAT idea, but make sure you get 3-D one done... I went through 4 angiograms, in a 3 week time period because a lot of angio's do not have the best pixils out there , the more powerful the better. then you do not have to go through so many and they have a Great pic to go by.
