Recovering from Iron-Deficient Anemia?

I have Iron-Deficient Anemia, and my last blood test (about a month ago) showed that my iron levels were normal. I still feel weak and tired a lot. I was told to keep taking iron for two more months to maintain my iron levels. Is it possible that my level is dropping again, or my body has just not recovered? Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

So when ye say ferritin, you mean iron..in its complex form? Sorry, but I'm new to all these terms! I guess I just say iron..but is ferritin the poper name?
According to my doctor I should be feeling better by now, but I had a downturn again these past few days. I've still got brain fog, and lightheadedness...and I'm very anxious because of it all. I'm wondering do my B12 levels have anything to do with all this? I read that iron deficieny can affect B12 levels which in turn make you anxious..this is getting complicated now!

My iron level was 10 when I last went to the doctors and I was so sick and "iron dry" that they couldn't get blood out of me....My veins receded and went farther back. They poked me in five different places and finally got just barely enough blood from a small vein in my hand to complete the test. I also need my blood tested every two months for the anti-depressants I take.....It takes a long time for them to get blood out of my body....It takes me only a few minutes.

I was diagnosed with severe anaemia about 6 weeks ago. My haemaglobin levels were at 60 and my iron levels at 2. I have had a blood transfusion and iron infusion and my blood levels are greatly improved, however, apparently my red bloods cells, due to the extreme long-term stress are apparently small, therefore not much oxygen can attach to these. Also the number of red blood cells are still not much more than when the anaemia was diagnosed as it takes the body 90 days to produce new, bigger and more red blood cells. Until such time, someone suffering from anaemia will take about 3 months to begin to feel any form of normality. I struggle doing small things like making a bed or washing dishes. It is very frustrating as I am normally a very active person, but apparently I have to be kind to myself. I hope this helps others who are suffering with anaemia.
