" Hi Floridian,

Thanks for the response. I realize the group is small (it will get bigger), but just curious as to how you came about with your diagnosis. "

" Ill jump in to this discussion and add that PA is easier to diagnose now...we usually send parietal cell antibodies and/or intrinsic factor antibodies...no more schillings tests, etc
Easy to diagnose so if anyone has anemia from a B-12 deficiency they should ask about it...of course PA is an uncommon cause of anemia as compared to iron deficiency....

" Hello. I definitely have the Iron deficiancy. Every time I try to give blood I always get the same message. I really want to give blood to help but just can't. I think I need to eat better foods though. I don't eat too much junk but I also don't eat enough really healthy foods either. "

" I am 48 year old female with aplastic anemia. I survive on blood and platelet transfusions. My RBC is 7.8, my platelets are 30k and my white is 1.9. I also take exjade for the iron overload from the transfusions and receive 2 injections of aranesp which is a RBC booster. "
