Joint pain & swelling a symptom of anemia or not?

I recently visited the doctor about my lingering joint pain and swelling, most noticably in my hands and feet and also lots of pain in my knees. After blood tests were done, it was discovered one of my blood counts was 98 when it should be around 130, haemoglobin I think. The doctor said that was the cause of those symptoms. I thought for sure it would be rheumatoid arthritis. My ANA test hasn't come back yet, so it's not completely ruled out yet, but I'd love to know if he's right. I couldn't find any info on the internet about Joint Pain and Anemia unless it was also associated with RA. Thanks for your help!

Diagnosed with RA a couple of years ago - diagnosed with anemia (severe) one year ago. Started treating the anemia with ferrous sulfate liquid - RA blood tests coming back normal. Vitamin B12 is also helpful here. Cannot explain it but might help some people.
