Many of you have read what Toby has written on these forums. It is with a heavy heart that I come here. Toby passed away on October 7th. Toby was one of the most amazing people I have ever met. His heart, determination and love for others can't be matched. At his memorial service his Commanding Officer said that ALS had not beaten Toby, but Toby beat ALS and he did. He did not let it stop any of his daily activities and he continued to live life to his fullest. If there were to be one thing I could pass on to all of you from my friend it would be his humor and determination. God bless all of you in this fight and take care.

" I was so shocked to here of Toby's passing. He spoke of all he was doing to fight this demon of a disease. My husband too, passed away this month from this dreaded disease. May they find a cure soon so that other families won't have to go through what our families have.

Brenda "

" Brenda,

I am so sorry to hear about your husband. I am happy however to hear of how long he made it. I think one day we will have cures for all of these demon diseases. Grieve as long as you need to but remember, it's just his beginning with no pain. Take care of yourself. "
